Just in General.......... [Mar. 11th, 2009|09:06 am]

[mood |crazycrazy]

I’m 42 almost 43 in April, I’ve noticed I have been dragging lately,

I take a Woman’s One a Day daily,

Excessively fatigued in the evenings after work.

I drive an hour to and from work.

I finally figured it out.

I’m up by 5 am every morning and don’t get to bed until 10 -10:30 pm ….its just not enough sleep. Sometimes I’m more fatigued than other days….and now since the time

Changed its really bad.

So I’m going to start working on eating better and getting more sleep during the week day.   Come home eat, bath, watch a little TV, and then go to bed early…..

I also haven’t figured out how my husband J can survive on so little sleep…..he seems to never be tired.

I also heard something yesterday from a Weight Watchers testimonial THE PERSON SAID…

Shop the outside aisles of the grocery store. The freshest foods are all around the outside of the store. There are very few things that you need to eat in the inner isles.

I’ve never thought about this before but I guess they are so right!   I intend to start doing this more.

Sorry J and C   no more bread,chips, cookies, smile….just kidding……

I also vow to start using my crock pots more !!!!   This will also help with time.

After being slapped by a fellow food_porn member yesterday, I will not be posting to this site anymore. Apparently my recipe was good but not sexy enough----I didn't understand one was suppose to describe its taste, smell and texture.
I also didn't understand that if someone doesn't have instant rice on hand and regular rice that they are actually dumb enough to ask you if regular rice would do for a Shrimp Creole recipe....well duh......you just put the creole over the rice.....so instant or regular would not matter....I'm thinking the person was from up north and had no clue about seafood cooking or that would be a no brain-er to them!.
so yes...I'm bitter and a bit shocked at the lack of knowledge of someone on a cooking website. that's out to criticized someone . So I will just watch this website in the future only.

My husband said I should of said it looked like baby puke, but taste fantastic.....laugh

anyway.....life is good today....I managed to get to work early and dressed nice and hair done ......I had started looking like a frump girl at work so I decided to STOP it dead in its tracks......

Today I feel like total Crap....sometimes I wonder why I always get sick and my husband J never does.
I get sick. I go to the dentist and have work done....he's never sick and has no cavities.....I'm glad he doesn't have bad health but it gets old being the only one all the time.

This weekend literally laid on my couch for two days taking Mucinex D extra strength. I hate weekends like this.

I did however see a wonderful looking recipe on the Food Network Channel by Paula Deen- I'm going to try it tonight. Wish me luck tonight making this one......

Swiss Steak
Recipe courtesy Paula Deen
Prep Time: 10 min Inactive Prep Time: hr min Cook Time: 1 hr 30 min Level:
Easy Serves:
4 servings Ingredients
1 round steak (approximately 1 1/2 pounds), see note
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper
All-purpose flour, for dusting
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 (14-1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 medium onion, cut into strips
1 medium bell pepper, cut into strips
Cut steak into serving-size pieces. Season, to taste, with garlic powder and salt and pepper. Dust meat with flour. In heavy skillet, brown both sides of meat in vegetable oil. Transfer to Dutch oven. Combine garlic, tomatoes, onion, bell pepper, and 1 tomato-can measure of water. Pour over steak and simmer over low heat until meat is tender, about 1 1/2 hours adding water, if necessary to keep meat partially covered. Season, to taste, with additional salt and pepper. Hint: Cook this in a slow-cooker, according to manufacturers instructions, on low for a most fabulous dinner. Low heat on a slow cooker is about 200 degrees F and high heat on a slow cooker is about 300 degrees F.

Note: to ensure tenderness, it is necessary to have the butcher run the round steak through a cuber.

I also have a great idea if you are one of those people like myself that likes to collect and print recipes all the time. Get a photo album and keep them sealed on each page. This way when you are ready to search its possible to find it again. I have tons of printed papers every where, I'm going to do this saturday night when the boys go to the Hockey game. J will be so proud to not find recipes here and there!!!

This weekend was pretty Great,,,I had my honey home finally.

Saturday-J got his hair cut at JC Penny's ....its like forcing him to get him to get a haircut.....then off to Iguana Joe's for Margarita's and shared Nacho's for dinner and rented movies from Blockbuster...
The last Mimzy and Hannibal Rising ....AND some needed alone time. Oh yea....

Went to see the movie,,,I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry 2007! It was funny...J and I laughed through the whole Movie....
Then we went to IKEA Furniture to find C some new furniture for his room. The store was packed! We did find a bed and locker we liked and plan to go back to get it in 2 weeks. It also rained most of the day. Had dinner at Fuddruckers which later was a huge mistake...It didn't set well with me at all......all this diet food Ive been eating and then WHAMMO some grease was not smart. Seemed to set with J ok. Anyone that can eat Vienna Sausages I'm sure can stomach anything.....

Monday ...well here I sit wondering if this is what really God has planned for me????

[mood |boredbored]

Well my weekend was long and very boring as hell.

I played on the internet.

Went shopping a little Saturday on Westheimer Stein Marts,,,bought two pair of shoes…

Found Whole Foods Market was not impressed at all.

Went to an antique store because I collect rolling pins and since I changed containers that holds them I have extra room …so had to fill it back up….I bought one huge stainless steel rolling pin about 4 inches around –it weighs a ton…..and its very unique….paid $20 for the thing…..looks like a bakery (back in the day) may have used it….

Went to the Farmers Market Saturday----where I got a huge scratch on the side of my car…yep that’s right …someone keyed my car….don’t know why or who? Also don’t know what I was thinking because I bought 6 ears of corn….about 10 or so squash,,,,,watermelon, cantaloupe, avocados, onions. I say I don’t know what I was thinking because in the last year or so…I cook only quick meals……now I have to do something with the corn and squash….last night boiled the corn so it wouldn’t go bad……will do something with the squash tonight….James is not home for dinner thus why I have no clue why I purchased such a thing……Just wasn’t thinking clearly.

Watched about 3 movies or so from Blockbuster. All not worth watching…..

Also ran by the vet to get my cat “Cocoa” Flea drops….she doesn’t have fleas just making sure she doesn’t get them.

Took some unwanted stuff to Goodwill Saturday too. I’ve been dropping stuff by their every weekend …ridding my house of unwanted crap.

Sunday…Went to Wal-mart for Groceries and had dinner with James because he was working as usual. I hate his new hours….I will be glad when they change him back to day shift. Sitting all day Saturday and Sunday alone was boring as hell.
